As a division 1 tennis player, I played for NC State (1 1/2 years) and Penn State. I played varsity singles and doubles all 4 years of college. In my senior year, I competed at #1 doubles and #2 singles for Penn State. I took several years off after college and finally started playing tennis again on USTA 5.0 women's doubles and 10.0 mixed doubles teams. The thrill of the competition was back! Many years later, a shoulder injury sidelined me from the sport I loved and grew up playing. I filled my need for competition by learning golf and competing on a local club level.

While raising 4 children, life was busy but sports were always a part of our family dynamic. Fast forward to 2017, I  tore my ACL while skiing with our family. I had surgery and decided to have my shoulder repaired later that same year thinking I would return to tennis.  During our kid's winter school break and looking for a family activity, we decided to play pickleball at a local facility. My mother-in-law introduced us to this sport that we never heard of even though it's the fastest-growing sport in the country. Once we started playing pickleball, we were hooked and addicted!

My husband and I started entering a few pickleball tournaments here and there. When we became empty-nesters, we decided to play in some bigger tournaments and even captured a gold medal in the 5.0 50+ division. As we grew in our pickleball ability and experience, I began teaching pickleball to share my knowledge and help people reach their potential. I love to see their improvement and hear that their friends are noticing their increased ability as well.  I became a certified teaching pickleball pro through Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR). PPR is the official Education  and Certification Partner of the USAPA and is dedicated to educating, certifying and serving pickleball teaching professionals and coaches around the world.
